More information on the things I've worked on! (Which is mainly one thing at this point)

New Campaign Trail

My work on New Campaign Trail has largely been community support - and that is my main job in relation to development. I have doccumented a "Mod Tutorial" that seeks to explain all the steps to developing a mod. This tutorial has been used as doccumentation frequently for new developers who wish to create a mod.

I also am a modder for the game myself. I don't favor a specific time-period, but I prefer to do mods about Presidential Elections which are unavailable. Here is a full list of the mods I have made, and all of them can be played on the "mod loader" located on New Campaign Trail.

1936b and 1936

1936b Release Date: Friday, November 5th, 2021 for Huey Long and Thursday, November 25th, 2021 for Alf Landon

1936 Release Date: Sunday, December 26th, 2021

1936b 1936

These were the first two mods I had ever made. Admittedly, they are not particularly high quality, but I still enjoy them from time to time. The first - 1936b, is an alternate history scenario - What if Huey Long, Governor of Louisiana was the 1936 Democratic Presidential nominee? The race, unlike the real 1936, is far more competitive. Meanwhile, my 1936 mod allows players to win in an absolute blowout as President Roosevelt - or try to avoid a wipeout as Alf Landon.

1876: Tilden or Blood

Release Date: Friday, June 10th, 2022

1876

A personal favorite of mine. 1876 is one of the closest, and most controversial elections ever to occur. This one includes one of my favorite special features - a very specific ending you can reach with very specific conditions. Despite this, you can certainly make the race end up not being the controversial, contested battle that it was as either Rutherford B. Hayes or Samuel Tilden. Yupperdoo helped me write much of this mod.

2022 Pennsylvania Governor

Release Date: Friday, August 5th, 2022

1936

I released this mod back in August of 2022 - a couple months before the election took place. I was met with some admittedly fair controversy over some biases in the mod. Ultimately, the difficulty I had originally set for Shapiro was on point - as this race turned out to be one of the least competitive of the last few years. This was the first mod I made that was "statewide" rather than a Presidential election.

2000 Patrick Bateman

Release Date: Friday, January 6th, 2023

2000 Bateman

One of the strangest concepts ever - until I read the writing that was handed to me. This is the first mod ever where I did absolutely zero writing. Spar-kie and RouteVenus hit it out of the ballpark with this one. It absolutely feels like you're running for President as Patrick Bateman, and the unique use of advisor feedback to hear Bateman's own brash comments is a perfect use of the mechanic.

1872: Turn the Rascals Out

Release Date: Friday, February 3rd, 2023

1872

1872, at the time, was pretty obviously my longest mod, and it took me on-and-off about 5 months to complete. I think it was all worth it though. Despite not being a competitive race, the game is still unique and has all sorts of secrets to discover. You can try an almost clean sweep as Grant, or attempt to forge a Liberal Republican coalition as Greeley. Perhaps you can do the most unexpected and cheat death, so says Horace Greeley...

1928: Who But Hoover?

Release Date: Friday, March 10th, 2023

1936

The 1928 election is rather interesting. You can see the start of a lot of the modern coalitions here - Al Smith's inroads in the North, and Hoover's "southern strategy" as we would call it today. This mod took about 3 weeks to develop, and although it's not as long as 1872, I think I did a good job with such an uncompetitive scenario. I would recommend trying to get as close to winning with Al Smith as possible.

The Divorce Trail: Astro vs Luuwuu

Release Date: Saturday, April 1st, 2023

1936

April Fools! I announced this as '2024: Biden vs DeSantis vs Trump' where Trump runs third party after losing the Republican nomination. Needless to say, that was a hoax, and a ruse. Not much to say about this mod. I guess it uses a jury as the map, which is cool and unique.

2016DNC

Release Date: Friday, July 28th, 2023

1936

Clearly my magnum opus. This was announced publicly on January 5th, 2022, with planning begining on December 6th of the previous year. It took until Friday, July 28th of 2023 for it to release. Clinton, Sanders, and O'Malley are all playable. Stuff like the Superdegelates and CYOA was so much fun to add, really proud of how this one turned out. Go play it!

1936b Redux (Every Man A King)

Release Date: Monday, July 31th, 2023

1936

At first this mod was supposed to be a joke, but it's really functional. Basically, I felt 1936b didn't account for how much of a demagouge Huey Long actually was. I don't even know if it's possible to win as Long specifically. Coding in his assassinations was fun. In retrospect, I somewhat regret making 1936b since Long was an absolute terrible and corrupt person, even if he's interesting. It's a good history lesson for a mod.

Sequel to 2016DNC (2016 O'Malley)

Release Date: Saturday, August 27th, 2023

1936

This mod serves as a continuation of 2016DNC if you happen to win as O'Malley. Most writing was handled by a large group of people, with over 10 contributing to the mod in some smaller form or fashion. There's some CYOA involved, and for what it is, it's really enjoyable. The maps can really vary playthrough by playthrough, and it's possible to really win big here.

1936: Director's Cut

Release Date: Saturday, September 2nd, 2023

1936

The definitive edition to my 1936 mod. More sources, more research, more experimenting. I used things such as the mid-game VP switcher and Liquid Astro's "bunnyhop" random question functions here. Unlike the original 1936, it's far more difficult (impossible) to win as Landon, but it's still a lot of fun!

1920: Return to Normalcy

Release Date: Friday, September 15th, 2023

1936

This mod is a bit experimental - there's multiple different candidates you can 'choose' from. Lots of CYOA hidden in here. I tried to make such a boring and uncompetitive election interesting, and ultimately, I think it worked.

1956: Peace and Prosperity

Release Date: Saturday, October 7th, 2023

1936

Finally, a Stevenson side to 1956. With that done, every post-war election has a complete mod of some form. Cupjo did the writing while I coded it. I found the running mate system very fun. It's a steep hill to climb but you can win as Stevenson.

Beyond...

Now? I'm hard at work on even more mods...
