Here is the hub for the 'official' mod tutorial for New Campaign Trail.

You can find all 8 Parts on the sidebar over there, but for now, I can tell you all you need to prep is to download a text editor. I recommend Microsoft's Visual Studio Code. Sublime Text and Notepad++ are also good options.
